The silk canvas is silk of the plain weave used for a
long time as a base material of the Orient painting and
paintings and writings. And, it is one of the important,
traditional materials. The kind is various according to the
age and the region. Externals of the silk canvas and the
relativity of the expression have been pointed out so far
by the researcher. In the thing and the technique research
that copied the classics painting that I had done so far,
it is thought that the influence that the character of the
silk canvas exerts on the expression and the technique is
large. It was thought that it was necessary to pursue it to
characters of not the silk canvas that externals look like
but the line and the feeling, etc. The silk canvas of the
classics painting is the character greatly different because
processing technologies are more different than modern
silk canvases.
Then, it aims to verify the relationship of the silk filature
technology and the character because it was thought
that the character of the silk canvas was different because
of the difference between the silk filature and the weaving
technology.
