A trial of an education with river kayaks in Asahi town

The author is an educator who loves paddling
canoes (especially river kayaks) very much. He found
in his paddling life that paddle sport is very effective
to educate a man. In 2008, he whose job is a producer
of cooperative activities between his university and
local areas, tried an education with river kayaks
in Asahi town, Yamagata. Asahi town, which has a
slogan; “The whole town is a museum, all residents
are curators”, is a suitable area for such a lesson as
he gave. He thinks though he had many difficulties
to accomplish his lesson, he obtained with many
aids, some fruits which he could hardly do without
river kayaks. In this essay, he reports his trial and
considers possibilities of an education with river
kayaks.
