東北・山形で地域に学ぶ意義
― 本学大学院デザイン工学専攻地域デザイン研究領域の使命 ―

University of Art and Design ─

1996年に開設された本学大学院デザイン工学専攻では、東日本大震災をきっかけとした社会情勢などを鑑み、2015年よりプロダクト、環境、グラフィックの領域を統合し、地域デザイン研究領域を組成した。地域の学びを助ける新たな共通演習、研究分野や領域を超えた交流を促す機会を用意した新しい研究環境で、学部、他大学からの進学学生の他、社会人、海外からの留学生と幅広い人材を受け入れ、公設民営大学として東北・山形の地域ならではのテーマを掲げた研究、実践活動をサポートし、地域の期待に答えている。

In 2015, Master Degree in Design Engineering, established
in 1996, drastically reformed its organizational
structure reflecting the social change caused by The Great
East Japan Earthquake. As a University of public privatization,
Regional Design area course is newly established
as an integrated faculty providing interdisciplinary collaboration
between Product Design, Environmental Design
and Graphic Design, and take an important role to revitalize
Tohoku region. Graduates from various academic
backgrounds, including students from foreign countries
and working people, join our course and study to meet
Yamagata’s regional peculiar needs.
