People in this millennium show a rising tendency
to approach a so called modern spiritualism. This
article is the second report of the results of our
questionnaire (including 46 questions) which we
conducted in January 2011 at Tohoku University of
Art and Design (TUAD). For example, we asked them
“When you express “soul” in another word, which
would you choose? 1. emotion, 2. life, 3. mind, and
so on.” (Q1), or “If you were to put a color to this
world (or your death, and the next world after death),
what kind of color would you choose ?”(Q2-4). The
results show that the female students of the
Department of Art are especially spiritual compared
to the other students. Soul seems to be expressed as
mind, heart and life. Red, white, blue, yellow are the
natural colors which represent our lives. White and
black represent the color of death and after-death.
Purple is in a sense a spiritual color, though the those
who chose it were limited to about 2%.
