山形市陣場の田中家住宅について
A Survey on the old farmer’s house of Tanaka family’s in Jimba town Yamagata city

This research is on Japanese traditional
farmer’s house, “Tanaka Family’s house” in Jimba
town in Yamagata city. Measuring and Hearing to
the owe were held to know the value of historical
architectures.
Tanaka family is one of the prominent farmer,
succeeded eleventh generation, and remarkable
large landowner in the region. There remains
4 buildings, gate and fence, which were built
in the beginning of Meiji Era to Showa Era
(1869 to 1930) and regarded as a representable
buildings in Yamagata city. These are authorized
for an important cultural property by Agency
of Cultural Affairs in September 2008 and this
research is held in ahead for its authorization. All
architecture has featuring style for the historical
building of a wealthy farmer of grain-growing
district. Its worth is shown in the main house has
4 Japanese-style room, 10-tatami mat spreaded,
storehouse for pickles called Tukemonogura,
storehouse with Japanese-style room, called
Zashikigura, and gate erected to commemorate
of the previous bride’s marriage celebration. The
construction technology and its decorations are
made of elaborate workmanship and difficult to
reproduce today.
