本研究は、現代の社会運動に対する〈居場所づくり〉の貢献を明らかにするものである。個人化の時代の社会運動は、相異なる運動論（アイデンティティ・ポリティクス、メタ・ライフ・ポリティクス、そしてシティズンシップ・ポリティクス）に同時に応えることを求められている。本稿では、「ぷらっとほーむ」（山形市、2003‐19年）という若者支援実践のエスノグラフィーの検討を通して、〈居場所づくり〉がそうした要請群への応答であることを検証した。「ぷらっとほーむ」では、活動の中心に位置するフリースペースが主にメタ・ライフ・ポリティクスならびにシティズンシップ・ポリティクスを、その周囲に展開するテーマ・コミュニティ群がアイデンティティ・ポリティクスを分担するような空間実践が行われていた。現代の社会運動を検討するにあたっては、こうした空間性への着目が有意義である。

This study clarifies the contribution of “place-making” to contemporary social movements. Social movements in the era of individualization are required to respond simultaneously to different political theories (identity politics, meta-life politics, and citizenship politics). In this paper, through an ethnographic examination of the youth support practice of “Plathome” (Yamagata City, 2003-19), I have verified that “place-making” is a response to such requests. At “Plathome”, the following spatial practices were carried out: free space, which is located at the center of activities, is mainly for meta-life politics and citizenship politics, while the thematic communities around it are responsible for identity politics. In examining contemporary social movements, it is meaningful to pay attention to such spatiality.
