高齢化社会や障害者差別解消法施行等によってバリアフリー化の需要が高まっている。文化財建築におけるバリアフリー化はクリアしなければならない課題が文化財建築毎に異なり、バリアを補う手法や在り方は今尚手探りの状況が続いていると言える。文化財建築におけるバリアフリー化に関わる立場として大きくは所有者、管理者（いずれも行政含む）、見学者（車いすユーザー、ベビーカーユーザー、高齢者等物理的バリアに対する配慮が必要な方を含む）、福祉機器開発業者があるとし全ての立場を理解した上でバリアフリー化の在り方を検討する。

It is increasing the barrier-free demand of the aging society
and Disability Discrimination Act eliminated. Since
countermeasures each is different, it can be said that the
method and way to supplement the barrier is followed by
a still groping situation. We consider the way of the barrier-free
with an understanding of each of the position to
which it is related.
