社会で活躍できる「実践力」育成のために必要な取り組み
Measures Needed to be Taken to Develop “Practical Ability” for Being Active in Society

社会が求める学生の資質は「主体性」「実行力」「課題設定・解決能力」である。その資質＝「実践力」と高校までの偏差値型の学力には、相関関係がなかった。学生の調査結果より「実践力」を支えている要素は、「主体的な取り組み意識」であった。
「主体的取り組み意識」を創造する要因は、役割におけるリーダー職が大きく関係することが明らかになった。すなわち、「実践力」を育成するためには、役割に応じたリーダー権限を提供すること、すなわち主体的に考えて実践する機会の提供が「実践力」の育成につながると考えられる。これからの大学に求められる役割は、地域社会と連携し「実践の場」を提供しつつ、地域社会の活性化と実践的な人材育成の両面への役割を果たしていくことが重要になると考えられる。

What society demands from students are independence, action, and the ability to set and solve problems; however, there is no correlation between these traits, i.e. “practical ability” and students’ academic ranking up through senior high school. According to the results of research carried out by university students, the main factor supporting “practical ability” is “independent action awareness”.
As for the factors for creating “independent action awareness”, it was revealed that having a leadership role was greatly related. In other words, it is thought that providing leadership authority depending on an individual’s role – namely, the offer of an opportunity to think and practice independently — is related to developing “practical ability”. Universities in the future will be required play the role of cooperating with local communities to provide a “place to practice”, and a the same time work to both revitalize local communities and to develop human resources with practical ability.
