Swidden cultivation called “KANO，” had been
widely practiced in Yamagata prefecture，and in
some regions here，people are still practicing it
nowadays. I visited some of these regions and made
a research on the life-style there through observation
interviews.This article will be apart of the
report of what I observed and heard from the people.
